Issues on how to make the MonkeyLogo works on PalmOS Version 3 & 4?
WARNING !! This product will not works on PalmOS 5. It crashed when installed onto my Tungsten T.
I'd received a couple of email enquries on the MonkeyLogo settings. In order to fullfil your query, I've provided this tip on how to SMS/beam a MonkeyLogo through a IrDA enabled phone.
  1. Install MonkeyLogo.prc and mccmnc.prc to your Palm PDA, you should see "Insert Operator" icon.
  2. Click on "Insert Operator", select and mark "X" for your country.... eg. Singapore, click "Insert..."
  3. Run MonkeyLogo now, click MonkeyLogo at top left corner, select "Option" click on "Service Center...."
  4. Under the Service Center Popup box, enter the Service Provider's Number with a "+" sign follow by the area code and the phone numbers. eg. "+6596197777", no space are allow.
  5. Click MonkeyLogo at top left corner, select "option" click on "Connection...."
  6. Under the Connection Popup box, click on the "Send" dropdown box and make your choice.
    • For SMS to another Mobile Phone, select SMS to <type of phone> by IR, Cable or Bluetooth.
    • For Beam, select Direct to <type of phone> by IR.
    • You had finish the setting up, next you need to download and intall logo database.
    • Take note when SMS to another Mobile phone: Launch MonkeyLogo, select logo and click send, select Calling Group and send. If select Operator, in the dropdown box select your Service Provider, enter recipient's phone no. and send.
    • Works perfectly with my mobile phones and my m505 !

From 1st April 2002, all office; home fixed 7-digit telephones and fax numbers including all dial-up internet access must add a prefix "6" in front to form 8 digit format phone number in order to make a call or connection.

  1. Palm users who need to edit and update the Palm Address book, a lot of time will be taken and it is very tedious to prefixing a digit 6 to front of every phone number.
    Thanks to Mr. Tan Hock Woo, he had created and provided a Palm ResourCe file (Size=5k, Version=1.15) named Eight Digits, you can download it from here.
    For unforseen cases always hotsync/backup your palm before installing and activation. I had try it on my Palm m505; It Work perfectly OK!
  2. dRemap Version 0.5 shareware with nag-free, capable of remapping the hardware buttons on your palm, is available at PalmGear.com now.
  3. A very useful Bus Guides that show you possible and alternative routes to your destination; Singapore Bus Guide for Palm Version 0.2 file size almost 300k, for frequant use palmer it is recommanded to install all the prc/pdb files in the ram for faster activation. Currently you can get it free from PalmGear.com or alternatively click to download directly. Again, thank to Mr. HWTan.  


Now you can move AvantGo to your palm expansion card with PowerRUN and any of the File Utilities to free up your palm ram as high as 1 megabytes, all you need to do is to follow the steps.
Try at your own risk, this method gather from SPUG Forums and summarized as follow :
  1. AvantGo Registered Users jump to Step 3, if you do not already had AvantGo, please register as a member, follow step by step connection, hot-sync, download and install to your palm ;
  2. Choose and add your favorite AvantGo's channels and do a hot-sync ;
  3. Use File Utility to create a directory named /PALM/programs/powerrun/AvantGo and sub-directory named /PALM/programs/powerrun/AvantGo/DONTSAVE ;
  4. Again use file utility to move AvantGo.prc and AvGoDocs???.pdb to /PALM/programs/powerrun/AvantGo ;
  5. Run PowerRUN and update shortcuts. A shortcut for AvantGo should be created [ Important ! Or else you might experience Fatal Error Message ! ] ;
  6. Hot-sync and activate AvantGo, once you leave AvantGo the above 2 huge files will move to expansion card and freed up palm memory.
  7. Works perfectly for my m505, Good Luck!
